About the Project

Feature Video

This website is a collaborative effort of the Community Video Education Trust and the South African Film and Video Project (SAFVP). This project aims to preserve important film and video from South Africa and make it available in the United States and to a worldwide audience.

The SAFVP is a project of Michigan State University (MSU) conducted by the MSU African Studies Center, a Title VI National Resource Center in the U.S., and Matrix: Center for Digital Humanities and Social Sciences.

The South African partners in the SAFVP are the Community Video Education Trust (CVET), the Film and Video Unit and Archives of the African National Congress, the National Film, Video and Sound Archives of the National Archives of South Africa, and Centre for Communication, Media & Society at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
